Internship Description:
This is a summer, commission based internship as an advertising sales rep for LionConnection.com. If your respective major allows, the internship will also qualify for internship/elective credit. Our internship program can benefit everyone, but especially those who are pursuing a career in Marketing / Advertising / Sales / Business / Public Relations / Communications / Promotions / Finance. This is an exciting position, a great learning experience, and a way for driven individuals to make good money. The ideal candidate must be mature, responsible, outgoing, and well spoken. Candidates should also exhibit a savvy sales mentality, and enjoy the ability to make his/own schedule. Most importantly, the LC summer internship will provide you with a universal experience that will allow you to grow both personally and professionally.
The LC sales internship is completely hands-on, and you are not delegated to secretarial work all summer, plus, you get to live in State College. While demanding, it IS possible to work another job in the evenings or take a summer class. The ability to socialize, communicate, and network with people is an invaluable asset that goes a long way in the job world. As the job market gets tougher, employers continue to look for resume experiences such as this which truly stand out from the rest.
Sales experience is preferred but not mandatory. This has been an extremely competitive position in the past. Please also note if you have a laptop with wireless capabilities.
THE ROLE:
• Establish relationships with local businesses and offer them a variety of our advertising products.
• You will report in to the LionConnection Manager on a weekly basis
• Contribute to building our ‘LionPromotions’ subsidiary.
• Assist in summer marketing strategies
• Contribute ideas and new initiatives to the LionConnection think-tank.
PAY STRUCTURE:
While the position is commission based, the percentages are quite favorable to the intern. Our past sales reps have been very happy with the generated income. As LionConnection grows stronger, and our advertising opportunities grow larger, the sales angle becomes that much easier. This is a great time to become involved.
START DATE:
This internship will be based in State College, PA. Selected candidates will have a scheduled orientation with our sales managers towards the end of the Spring 2006 semester. The position will run over the majority of the summer.

Internship Description:
ALL LionConnection interns begin at the ground floor. The entry level position is unpaid, but qualifies for 1 elective credit through the University. We are currently looking for bright, mature, and enthusiastic students, preferably FRESHMAN and SOPHMORES, who are actively looking for real life application of what they are learning in the classroom. This will not only provide a unique addition to your resume, but it is an exciting place to work.
THE ROLE:
• Entry level interns will work directly with our management team, learning the ins and outs of the business, helping to develop new and innovative features and marketing concepts, and be given varying levels of responsibility for those who choose to accept it.
• As an entry level intern, you will also be responsible for helping promote the LionConnection name. You will engage in a variety of different “guerilla marketing” type efforts including campus flyering, nightlife promotions, email announcements, Collegian advertising, downtown promotions, weekly giveaways, etc.
• You will also be involved in our brainstorming roundtables, and work hands on in developing new initiatives for the site.
PROMOTIONS:
After a full semester with LionConnection, we have found that our interns get a complete grasp on how the site works, our target groups and objectives. While some lose interest, those who take on extreme responsibility and shine during the intern process will be considered for promotion to a paid management position for the following semester. This is why we are focusing our hiring on a younger intern base, such that management can potentially be on board for 2-3 years if they wish.
